A memorial celebration will be held on Sunday, May 25th at 2 PM at Town Hall, Seattle (1119 8th Ave. at Seneca Street) for longtime political activist and Spanish Civil War Veteran, Abe Osheroff .

full description & details:

Abe Osheroff began his political activism at the age of 15 in Brooklyn, returning furniture to the homes of families who were evicted during the Depression. He went on to serve with the Abraham Lincoln Brigade in Spain where he took up arms against fascism. His lifelong work for justice took him to Mississipi in 1964 defending civil rights and to Nicaragua in 1985 to protest US policies in that country. During his 80 years of organizing for peace and justice, he was active in a great many other issues including efforts to end the wars in Vietnam and, most recently, in Iraq.

He lived for the last 19 years in Seattle and was particularly inspirational to young people who sought his wisdom and counsel regarding a life of social activism.

The public is invited to this memorial.
