The sixth annual HAZEL WOLF ENVIRONMENTAL FILM FESTIVAL, returns to The Sleeping Lady Mountain Retreat in Leavenworth, WA on March 18-21, 2004 to provide a weekend of activism, inspiration and entertainment for all those who are passionate about our environment and interested in environmental films. Filmmakers, environmental activists, educators, scientists, students and concerned citizens come together for four days of films, workshops, expert panel discussions, all focusing on new issues and ideas about our culture and environment.

FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS

Thursday evening Wenatchee filmmakers Jamie Howell and Guy Evans will present “Broken Limbs” a documentary about the Wenatchee Valley apple industry, and the livelihoods of those in the Wenatchee Valley.

Friday features films on "Wildlife" and "Water". Northwest filmmakers Sharon Howard and Mike Rosen will present their documentary “Wolf”. “Watershed”, “Thirst” and “Reclaiming Water” look at issues ranging from the Klamath River to water as a catalyst for community resistance to globalization.
Friday evening Kenny Ausubel of Inner Tan Productions and founder of the Bioneers will speak to how we can most effectively use film as an organizing tool to capture the energy it releases and awakens for progressive social change.
Friday also features our Youth Program “Speak Out for The Environment” with a focus on the Wenatchee Watershed.
Saturday's films will focus on Environmental Health with screenings of "Blue Vinyl", “Up Close & Toxic” and "Fallon Nevada" among others followed by a panel discussion in the afternoon. A Northwest program will feature films by Northwest filmmakers.

Our annual "Art & Environment" auction follows dinner on Saturday, March 20th.

Saturday evening's speaker is Amanda McConnell writer and producer of "The Sacred Balance".

Workshops for educators, activists and filmmakers are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

Opportunities to learn more and get involved in environmental issues on “Wildlife”, “Water” and “Environmental Health” will be available throughout the weekend.
