Victor Hugo Lopez of the Fray Bartolome de las Casas Human Rights Center in Chiapas, Mexico will speak on current human rights issues facing the indigenous communities of Chiapas and the work of the Fray Bartolome Center in providing legal and other support for these communities. The Center was founded by renowned liberation theologian, peace activist, and Catholic bishop Samuel Ruiz Garcia and supports local indigenous communities in Chiapas.
