Come celebrate the ACLU's 75th birthday!

full description & details:

Join the ACLU of Washington at Cal Anderson Park with Mississippi prom plaintiff Constance McMillen to celebrate 75 years of protecting civil liberties, including the freedom to love whomever you choose. With free Trophy Cupcakes, DRY Soda, and prom photos by Heather Trimm Photography. Street Treats and Where Ya At, Matt mobile food trucks will be selling goodies alongside the park.

Free and open to the public.

Represented by the ACLU, 18-year-old Constance sued school officials and won a federal court ruling in March that her Mississippi high school violated her First Amendment rights when it canceled the school prom rather than let her attend with her girlfriend. School officials then cruelly put on a "decoy" prom for her while the rest of her classmates were at a private prom 30 miles away.
