The Japanese have been breaking an International Moratorium on hunting whales in the Southern Ocean Sanctuary since 1986. They are also in violation of the Antarctic Treaty, which they signed.
Whales are hunted for "Scientific Research" and the whale meat is sold at Japanese supermarkets and restaurants. This is a loop-hole they are using to continue their whale hunt. This year, 50 Humpback Whales are on the chopping block, along... with another 936 Minke Whales. The madness has to stop. The whales are in a protected zone. Our voices have to be heard.
Please join us in letting the Japanese know how we feel about their illegal activities!
